How do I prepare my barrel for the first use?

We do not use any chemicals for our barrel production, thus the barrel should be disinfected in the same way as any other container: rinse it with water or a soda solution. Hot water could ruin the looks of the barrel, so be careful or wait until it cools a little. Use a funnel to protect your barrel from splashes, which may be detrimental to its looks too. Water may leave it stained, so if you did have a splashing accident, make sure to clean away as soon as possible.
