Is it possible to make some whiskey at home?

Whiskey production usually takes years. That’s because this drink is stored in enormous barrels and needs lots of time to acquire all qualities of the oak. Keeping the drink in smaller barrels at home makes the ageing process much shorter. It takes only half a year to age a batch of whiskey in a small, for example, 6 litre oak barrel, for it to acquire a nice amber colour and distinct aromas of vanilla and caramel.

Our oak barrel assortment ranges from 3 to 50 litres. These barrels are made of Lithuanian oak, combining ancient Lithuanian traditions with modern technology. We carefully select the best wood and use strong stainless steel hoops to maintain the highest quality. The selected wood is stored and hardened under natural outdoor conditions for 18-36 months. To make sure that our barrels are not only high-quality, but also neat, we coat them with beeswax thus highlighting the expressive oak pattern and protecting the barrel from various stains, emerging during use.

What makes our oak barrels for whiskey special?

Going deeper into the subtleties of making various drinks, the qualities of oak and its processing, we perfected our barrels, made especially for whiskey and other spirits. The inside of our barrels is both toasted and charred. This method of processing enables to unfold stronger flavours and more aromas. We always recommend tasting your drinks from the barrel periodically. Some may be satisfied with the colour, flavour and aroma of their whiskey in 3 months, some others – in half a year, while some others may want to keep their drink in the barrel for an entire year.
